Samaria Gray, LCSW

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and proud graduate of Fordham University, dedicated to helping individuals, youth, couples, and families heal, grow, and reconnect with their strengths. My work is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care, and I strive to create a warm, grounded, and compassionate space where clients feel safe exploring their experiences and empowered to create meaningful change.

As a Trauma Therapist, I have provided both individual and group therapy for clients navigating complex emotional landscapes. I conduct thorough assessments and differential diagnoses, create and adjust treatment plans, provide psychoeducation, and advocate for clients across multiple systems—including criminal justice, schools, and community resources—to ensure they receive comprehensive, coordinated support. My approach honors each person’s story, helping them build resilience, restore balance, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

My background also includes extensive experience as a School Social Worker, where I worked closely with parents, educators, administrators, and community partners to support students’ academic, emotional, and social success. I helped develop and implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support; coached teachers on evidence-based behavioral and emotional strategies; facilitated therapy groups within the school setting; and designed individualized education plans for students with special needs. I’ve always believed in the importance of nurturing the whole child, and that academic success grows from emotional wellbeing, supportive relationships, and a strong school–home partnership.

In addition, I served as a Supervising Social Worker for the SNUG Gun Violence Intervention Program, where I oversaw case managers, provided therapeutic services to victims of community violence and their families, and supported staff with training, debriefing, and trauma processing. I developed programming for families affected by homicide, coordinated responses to community violence, and ensured that documentation and reporting met program standards. This work strengthened my commitment to community healing, crisis response, and trauma-informed advocacy.

Earlier in my career, I worked with the Nubian Directions YouthBuild Program, where I supported at-risk youth in overcoming barriers to education and life stability. I created individualized development plans, supported families in addressing adverse conditions, facilitated crisis counseling, attended student support meetings and court interventions, and provided professional development for both educators and parents. Serving as a bridge between students, schools, and community systems helped me understand how transformative compassionate, consistent support can be during pivotal stages of life.

Across all these roles, my mission has remained the same: to support healing, foster resilience, and help each person feel more grounded, empowered, and understood. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and I am honored to walk alongside clients as they reclaim their voice, strengthen their relationships, and build the lives they envision.

If you’re looking for a therapist who brings warmth, clinical expertise, and a deep commitment to your wellbeing, I would be honored to support you.
